An Ode To The Rain

The waiting was uncertain,i knew it always

Days seemed long..so were the nights..

you never gave promises..i realize

Dried up rivers told many tales

Of turbulent days long long back.

Like an old lady saying the charm

Of her once long hair,thick and black..

Shrivelled up trees whimpered low

Thirsty birds had cuddled up high

The wind was warm even at night

you didnt come ..for the sky remained bright!!

Cracks began to appear

In the soil,in my heart..

I looked up the sky;so blue;it seemed

I failed to read your clouds..

Or you,my eyes.. perhaps.!

You never gave promises i realise

Let the waiting end with me

So to the skies,i closed my eyes..

But then,all on a sudden

Descending from heavens

You kissed my forehead!!

And left me wondering

Was it your love or

My own tears

Was it joy or Was it pain

Flowing down my cheeks...

And softly whispered the breeze

" The Eternal Rain"
